What is a Zero Hours Contract?
A zero hours contract is an employment agreement where the employer does not guarantee a minimum number of working hours, and the worker is not obliged to accept any work offered. It provides flexibility for both parties — employers can offer work as needed, and workers can accept or decline shifts.
Zero hours contracts are commonly used in hospitality, retail, healthcare, and other sectors where demand fluctuates. Workers on zero hours contracts are entitled to the same statutory employment rights as other employees, including holiday pay, rest breaks, and protection from discrimination.
When should I use a Zero Hours Contract?
